So I've decided to create a sort of digital memory box for myself โ which will hopefully inspire new tactile ways to look at not only our computer files, but our digital lives as well.

But what about my digital memories - my screenshots, notes, GIFs, videos? They're stored in impersonal files, devoid of any tactile sense. They don't have a scent, hold any weight or have a certain texture.

I think that's why I keep memory boxes. In them I put my reciepts, tickets, letters, perfumes I don't wear anymore - things future me will see, read or even smell and for a moment be comforted by the memories these items hold.

My mom always says that the past is the easiest thing to think about. It has passed โ we already know how it ends.
